Ophir Falk, the foreign policy adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has called for the removal of Iran's government in the final days before Israel's October 27 election. In written remarks sent to The Jerusalem Post, Falk positioned the upcoming vote as a decision on which partner can most effectively coordinate with the United States to alter the political structure in Tehran. He described the objective as a shared interest for America, Israel, and the wider world.

Falk identified the alliance between the Israeli prime minister and US President Donald Trump as the optimal vehicle for this change. He stated that the Trump-Netanyahu team has demonstrated the suitability to execute the task of removing what he termed the "genocidal Ayatollah regime." The adviser framed the election question not merely as domestic policy but as a strategic choice regarding how Israel will cooperate with Washington during the final two years of Trump's term.

President Trump reinforced this alignment on Sunday evening through a post on Truth Social. He renewed his endorsement of Netanyahu, urging Israeli voters to support the incumbent to complete the work begun by both administrations. "Vote for Bibi Netanyahu for Prime Minister; we have to finish the job that we started!" Trump wrote. Falk cited this statement as evidence that the US president prefers to work with the current Israeli leadership.

The adviser contrasted this preference with the positions of regional adversaries. Falk claimed that Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis all desire a Netanyahu defeat. He argued that the strategic environment currently favors the Western alliance, stating that Israel and its partnership with the United States are stronger than at any previous point, while Iran and its proxy networks are weaker.

Falk's comments build on remarks made in a mid-October interview. On October 15, he told The Jerusalem Post that Israel was very close to creating conditions for regime change in Iran. However, he clarified that the final step depends on internal dynamics, noting that the decision to change the regime belongs to the Iranian people. The new written remarks did not specify a method for how the US and Israel would jointly pursue this goal or provide a specific timeline for when the change would occur.

The election takes place on Tuesday, October 27. Falk's argument suggests that a Netanyahu victory would maintain the momentum for a coordinated push to end the current leadership in Tehran, while a change in government might alter the pace of that effort.
