Gary Johnson has not been seen since July 10, 2025. He is 68 years old and remains a missing person in St. Louis County. Police say he disappeared at St. Louis Fish and Chicken on Halls Ferry Road.
The man is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. St. Louis County police report that he left without his glasses. He also left without his prescription medication, which he needs daily.
Keanna Jackson, Johnson’s granddaughter, said her grandfather was a social person with a strong connection to his community. She noted that he was deeply rooted in faith and family. "He liked to interact with people. He was very light-spirited. And he really liked community. And he had a big heart for family," Jackson said.
The family has checked local morgues and churches while posting flyers in the area. Jackson said they have not received any leads in the past year. "We haven’t had any leads within a year, so any kind of support will help us at this time," she said. Johnson is known to frequent the intersection of St. Louis Avenue and Marcus Avenue.
Jackson described the emotional toll of the search on her family. "My grandpa was like the primary support for me because my mom passed away," she said. "It’s been challenging, trying to come to grips and find that footing without him being there."
Detectives from St. Louis County Police are still checking for new leads. The department will continue its investigation, but officials say there are no new updates on Johnson’s whereabouts. Anyone with information can call 911 or St. Louis County Police at 636-529-8210.
