Jay-Z will take the stage at SoFi Stadium for the Super Bowl halftime show on February 14, 2027. The announcement confirms the rapper as the headliner for the event, which will occur two months after the championship game concludes. Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s production company, has partnered with the NFL to produce the halftime show since 2019. Jay-Z serves as a primary decision-maker for the lineup and selected himself for this year’s slot.
The specific details of the performance remain partially open. While the headliner is confirmed, the teams competing in the Super Bowl will not be known until the end of January 2027. Additionally, no special guests have been officially announced yet. Industry observers anticipate that Jay-Z may invite other artists to join him on stage, consistent with the format of recent halftime performances.
Four names have surfaced as likely candidates based on professional history and personal relationships. Beyonce, Jay-Z’s wife since 2018, is frequently cited due to their extensive musical collaboration. The couple released hits such as "Crazy in Love" in 2003 and "Drunk in Love" in 2013. Beyonce has a strong track record with the NFL, having performed at halftime in 2016 alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars. She also sang the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2001 in Houston.
Rihanna represents another strong possibility. Jay-Z played a key role in her early career as CEO of Def Jam Records in 2005. The two have recorded songs including "Umbrella" and "Run This Town." Earlier in 2026, Rihanna made a surprise appearance on Jay-Z’s tour at Yankee Stadium. She headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023, an appearance that included the announcement of her pregnancy.
Blu Ivy Carter, the couple’s oldest child, has also performed in an NFL context. She danced during Beyonce’s Christmas Day halftime show in Houston in 2024. Blu Ivy has also served as a dancer on her mother’s Cowboy Carter tour. Her presence at NFL games with her father is a familiar sight for fans. A performance at the Super Bowl would mark a significant family appearance on the national stage.
Eminem is the fourth name on the list of potential guests. The rapper joined Jay-Z on stage during the current tour. The two previously collaborated on the track "Renegade" from the album The Blueprint. Eminem has prior experience as an NFL performer, appearing as a special guest during the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show. His participation would add a veteran hip-hop voice to the lineup.
The 14-minute performance window at SoFi Stadium allows for a focused set. The NFL and Roc Nation have not released a detailed production schedule or a final guest list. The decision on who, if anyone, will join Jay-Z remains with the artist and his production team. The halftime show will air nationally, providing a platform for the confirmed headliner and any potential guests to reach a wide audience.
The event is scheduled for the second Sunday of February 2027. SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, will host the game and the halftime show. The confirmation of Jay-Z as the performer closes one variable in the production process. The remaining questions concern the specific musical arrangements and the inclusion of guest artists. These details are expected to be finalized in the months leading up to the game.
